Dear Prospective Member,
     I have always said: "Type Pals is and always will be free." This has been a true statement for more than five years. I started saying this when we had just 30 members. Then again when we reached 60 members. Again and again, I held to the promise of keeping Type Pals free to join. We have reached nearly 500 members in over 30 countries. I never imagined my hobby of running Type Pals would ever hit those numbers.
     There is a reality to running a site like this: it is not cheap. Costs have reached nearly $200 per month and continue to rise annually. Sadly, this limits us to 500 members. The next level to open up more spots for new members would nearly double the monthly cost. I have been unemployed for more than two years now. I can no longer justify the cost for a hobby.
     That said, I ask only that you pay the cost of your "seat": just $5 per year. This will allow me to never ask for donations again, while making it possible for us to expand beyond 500 members.
     I know it is very likely you came here expecting membership to be free. I am hopeful you understand my dilemma. Rest assured, if you decide within 30 days that Type Pals is not for you, I will refund your payment in full, no questions asked.
